Las Vegas HOA considers bulletproof glass for meetings

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A Las Vegas homeowners association considered purchasing bulletproof glass for their meetings, but some neighbors say a more pressing concern lies with where their money is going.

The Sun City Summerlin Community Association was set Tuesday to consider “bullet resistant plexiglass” which would surround their executive director and assistant executive director during board meetings. After Nexstar’s KLAS inquired about the agenda item, neighbors said the item was removed from the meeting.

“To clarify, there is no active security threat prompting action by the association,” Sharry Quillin, a publicist for the HOA, said. “The agenda item referenced is a precautionary workplace safety measure intended to improve staff safety, visibility, and emergency access during board meetings.”…
