Sidewalk and trail improvements along Dupree Road are almost complete.
On Monday, the Woodstock City Council unanimously approved a “major budget amendment” to transfer $115,000 in tax allocation district revenue to the city’s Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax VII fund to fund additional costs related to the Dupree Road Connection Walkable Woodstock sidewalk project.
The project includes about 1,500 linear feet of new sidewalks and trail segments along Dupree Road, filling in gaps where sidewalks do not currently exist. The trail provides a continuous connection from Market Street to the eastern side of the Interstate 575 bridge, linking with both the Noonday Creek Trail and existing Cherokee County sidewalks, according to the city.
