New exhibit honors Asheville’s historic Black neighborhoods

“Black Stories in Census Tract 2” pairs historical archives with modern digital storytelling to share the lives of families who shaped Asheville’s historic Stumptown, Hill Street, and South Montford neighborhoods.

The exhibit features community-centered research and oral history collection, as well as multimedia documentation. Garnet Prose + Projects, STM Multimedia and the Historic Stumptown Neighborhood Association partnered to produce it.
