MASSILLON, Ohio (WJW) – A 40-year-old Perry Township man wanted for stalking and assault could be facing additional charges after fleeing from police in an SUV through neighborhood yards.

According to a media release, shortly after 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24, detectives with the Massillon Police Department attempted to serve a felony arrest warrant on Nelson White, 40, who they said was at his home in the 200 block of Elmford Avenue SW.
Officers said as they attempted to take White into custody he took off in an SUV leading police on a short pursuit, which was called off when officers lost sight of the suspect.
As police continued to search the area, they said they encountered a hit-skip crash where witnesses described the fleeing SUV.

Officials said, a short time later, the SUV was found unoccupied in the 2800 block of Kipling Avenue NW in Jackson Township.
