For more than a year, the vision for One Park Sarasota in The Quay was challenged before city government and then litigated before the court. At issue was a plan to build above Quay Commons and combine Blocks 1 and 9 into a single structure before it was eventually ruled in violation of the air rights above the street.
Rather than challenge that legal decision, developer Property Markets Group of Miami and its local investment partner, MoneyShow, relented and redesigned the project to only cover Block 1 at the corner of Boulevard of the Arts and North Tamiami Trail.
The 18-story, 86-unit condominium project finally broke ground in October 2024 and is currently two floors shy of topping off as framing and glass are being installed on the floors below as the concrete and steel shell begins to take the form of residences…
