Birmingham business owner concerned about proposed daytime homeless shelter

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The city of Birmingham is expected to develop a daytime outdoor homeless shelter in downtown.

The purchase of a vacant lot at 1312 First Ave. North for the “urban oasis” was approved by the Birmingham City Council Tuesday. That decision, however, has some business owners in the area concerned.
