Man crashes into Niagara County Sheriff’s patrol car, charged with DWI

LOCKPORT, N.Y. — A Buffalo man is facing charges, including DW,I after allegedly crashing into a Niagara County Sheriff’s patrol car.

The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday that Eric Mende, 33, of Buffalo was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, open container, and other unnamed traffic violations.

According to Niagara County Sheriff Michael Filicetti, at around 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, a marked sheriff’s patrol car was stopped in regular traffic at the intersection of Saunders Settlement Road and Lockport Road, just outside of Lockport.
