Potential measles exposure announced at Ohio airport

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKBN) — The Ohio Department of Health Director announced that individuals may have been exposed to measles at the John Glenn International Airport in Columbus on Feb. 18.

Bruce Vanderhoff, ODH director, announced those traveling at the airport may have been exposed to measles between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Individuals at the airport during this time who are vaccinated with the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine have a very low risk of getting sick. However, individuals not vaccinated with the MMR vaccine should carefully monitor for any signs and symptoms until March 11.

ODH is asking those who develop symptoms to stay home and away from others immediately and to call your doctor, stating you may have been exposed to measles. Letting your doctor know in advance allows them to take necessary precautions to ensure the safety of others…
