All about Fort Wayne’s AI-powered Flock surveillance cameras

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) recently shared details on its partnership with an artificial intelligence-powered public surveillance camera company, Flock Safety.

Flock Safety is a surveillance camera company that serves several different kinds of entities, not just law enforcement, including HOAs, businesses, and churches, and offers products such as license plate readers, security cameras, and even “first responder drones.”

FWPD PIO, Sgt. Jonathan Cutler said that the FWPD began implementing the license plate reader cameras, or LPRs, in Fort Wayne starting in the summer of 2024 with a handful, scaling up to 36 cameras in 2025…
