Designer belt purchase in west Michigan leads to discovery of $35K counterfeit cash

PINE GROVE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The purchase of a belt on Michigan’s west side led to the discovery of more than $35,000 in counterfeit bills and two arrests.

According to authorities, Michigan State Police troopers were alerted to a counterfeiting complaint after two men reportedly used fake bills to purchase a designer belt sold over Facebook Marketplace.
