Former Perry fire chief sentenced to probation for embezzlement

PERRY, Mich. (WJRT) – The former chief of Perry Area Fire Rescue will spend the next 18 months on probation after he pleaded no contest to embezzling from the department.

Court records show 61-year-old Guy Hubbard received a 181-day jail sentence, which he will not serve unless he violates terms of his probation over the next year and a half. He also must pay $1,225 in fines and court costs.

Hubbard pleaded no contest to one misdemeanor charge of embezzlement of $200 to $1,000 by an agent or trustee involving theft of funds from the Perry fire and EMS department…
