MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – The trial of three men charged with murder in what prosecutors call a revenge killing got underway Tuesday.
The shooting in September 2020 resulted in the death of Martha McGinsey at her home on Roderick Road in the Overlook community in west Mobile. Mobile County Assistant District Attorney Katy Sipper told jurors during her opening statement that the defendants – LaQuonte McCants, Darrin Demetrius Miller and Darrion Montreal Johnson – lashed out after Sidney Burke killed Keontae McCants earlier in the day.
