“2nd Chances” event helps people with felony convictions find work

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Federal and Alabama state officials are holding a special job fair this week to help people impacted by the justice system find work. The event is meant to break down barriers and keep people out of prison. Whether you use the term ex-con, former felon or even “justice-impacted person,” anyone with a felony conviction will probably have trouble finding work after they’ve done their time. That’s where this job fair is meant to help.

Thursday, Bishop State’s Center for Advanced Manufacturing will host the 4th annual 2nd Chances Job and Resource Fair. That’ll be from 8:30 to 12:30 this Thursday.

It’s just for people with felony convictions. It’s meant to connect them to employers who are willing to hire them or connect them with resources they may need.
