Wanted Philadelphia man found in Altoona with satchel full of drugs: APD

ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — A Philadelphia man wanted in Virginia for stealing a vehicle was found in Altoona with a satchel full of drugs, according to police.

Akeem Hamaas Thomas, 35, was arrested Wednesday night, Feb. 24, after Altoona police, who were conducting a detail with the Blair County Drug Task Force, pulled over a Nissan in which Thomas was a passenger.

According to the criminal complaint, the Nissan was stopped in the area of 7th Avenue and 10th Street after failing to use a turn signal to turn onto 6th Avenue. Officers approached and ordered the driver and Thomas out of the vehicle. Thomas then proceeded to run on foot…
