Pittsburgh woman accused of threatening to kill man, attempting to break in with knife

A Pittsburgh woman is accused of attempting to pick the lock of a Cranberry Township man’s apartment with a serrated kitchen knife and threatening to kill him, according to police.

Kiersten Sands, 39, was charged Friday, Feb. 20, by Cranberry Township police with felony criminal trespass and one misdemeanor count each of terroristic threats, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and possession of an instrument of a crime following a Feb. 19 incident.

Police said they responded at 9:24 p.m. to a Stratford Court apartment for reports of a woman breaking in. Sands had left a voicemail on the man’s phone saying she would attempt to kill him and texted the man’s mother to say she would hurt her son, police said…
