An inmate’s death late Tuesday at California State Prison, Sacramento, is being investigated as a homicide, state corrections officials said.
Authorities at the facility known as New Folsom identified the man killed as John Cisneros, 49.
Guards found Cisneros unresponsive in his cell about 9:15 p.m. and took his cellmate, Irvin Sanchez, 34, into custody, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation officials said in a Wednesday statement.
