BRIDGEPORT — Facing criticism he would be taking snow plowing resources off of city streets, Mayor Joe Ganim Wednesday cleared up his previous night’s offer of assistance to help Providence, neighboring Rhode Island’s capital, dig out from Sunday’s and Monday’s blizzard.
“The City of Bridgeport clarifies that we are NOT sharing or sending equipment, crew, or contractors out of Bridgeport as they are focused 24/7 on our clean up,” Ganim’s office said in an emailed statement just before noon Wednesday, with the “not” in all capital letters for emphasis.
