Roanoke City School Board navigating budget decisions amid $16.5 million deficit

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Tough decisions lie ahead for the Roanoke City School Board, which is navigating a greater than $16.5 million budget deficit.

“I am extremely frustrated and almost at the point of tears, as a parent and as a school board member,” said school board vice chair Michael Cherry II during Tuesday night’s work session.
