ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Upcoming changes to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits will affect some people, including victims and survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking.
Effective this weekend, SNAP recipients are required to work at least 20 hours per week if they are considered able-bodied adults without dependents, 18 to 64 years old, not living with a child under 14 and able to work.
Some victims of domestic violence and human trafficking may fall into that category but not able to work to keep themselves safe…
