Property crime fell 16.4%, including a 37.1% drop in motor vehicle theft, 35.1% in shoplifting, and 27.3% in robbery. Crimes against society decreased 21.7%, with fewer drug and weapons violations. However, crimes against people rose 12.7%, mainly due to more simple assault cases, which increased from 857 to 1,014.
