Regional prison earned over $2M on contract to hold ICE detainees

STRYKER, Ohio — The Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio ended the year with a $3.2 million surplus, about $2.1 million of which came from a contract with federal immigration enforcement.

At a meeting Wednesday morning, officials from CCNO told board members that the amount of unused funds was the largest in the facility’s history.

A large portion of those profits, the facility’s fiscal manager said, was from an agreement that allows U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to use the facility for its detainees. The remaining surplus was from unspent funds in the 2025 budget…
