ISU study finds fewer Iowa farmers are using cover crops, which could harm water supply

AMES, Iowa (WOI) – New research from Iowa State University shows only 23% of Iowa farmers are using cover crops, despite it being a proven strategy to reduce nitrate levels in waterways.

The study looked at the use of cover crops in 2014, 2016 and 2018.
