LACASSINE, La. (KPLC) – A Lafayette man is facing multiple charges after a late-night high-speed chase on Interstate 10 involving multiple agencies.
Rashon Sterling, 26, was booked into the Jeff Davis Parish Jail on a traffic violation and the following charges:
- Aggravated flight from an officer
- Driving under suspension
- Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The chase started around 9:10 p.m. Feb. 23 in Lafayette, when a police officer saw a vehicle near the intersection of W. Pont De Mouton Road and I-49 South that matched a suspect wanted for burglaries across several parishes, Sgt. Robin Green of LPD said.
Before the officer could pull the vehicle over, it took off at a high speed, Green said. The officer chased the suspect until they lost sight of his vehicle near Sunset and ended the chase…
