Four Freeport-area dairy manufacturers are set to compete in the 2026 World Championship Cheese Contest.
The event will take place March 3-5 at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center in Madison, Wisconsin, according to a community announcement.
Deerland Dairy of Freeport, Nuestro Queso of Kent, Ludwig Dairy of Dixon and North Sky Farm of Harvard are among the competitors.
34 states and 25 countries
They will compete against dairy processors from 25 countries and 34 U.S. states and territories. The contest has attracted 3,375 entries across 150 classes of dairy products.
Public can watch preliminary rounds
Preliminary rounds of judging are open for public observation March 3-4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Attendance is free, and samples will be available…
