BELOIT — About 300 students from three Beloit high schools staged a walkout Wednesday afternoon to protest what they believe to be unjust tactics by federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents across the country.
The vast majority of the protesters on Wednesday were from Beloit Memorial High School, but that group met up with a small contingent from The Lincoln Academy at Riverside Park and were eventually joined by a hardy group of about 30 students from Beloit Turner High School. That contingent made the walk all the way from Turner High School on Inman Parkway in 33 degree weather.
