On Tuesday, February 24, 2026, around 11:20 a.m., a 6-year veteran of the Conroe Police Department was stopped alongside the road in the 1300 block of FM 1488. The officer was taking radar readings of passing vehicles to identify speeding vehicles.
The officer observed a motorcycle traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed and confirmed the vehicle to be in excess of the posted speed limit of 50 MPH.
The motorcycle driver reportedly accelerated past the officer and began evading the officer as the driver weaved through traffic at an increasing high rate of speed. The officer was able to enter the roadway and activate his emergency lights. As the motorcycle driver continued eastbound, he disregarded the red light at FM 1488 and Peoples Rd.
