The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Transportation Services has announced changes to select TheBus routes slated to begin Sunday, March 1, according to a news release.
The following routes will change as of Sunday:
A Line (Ahua to UH Manoa):
- Eastbound trips during morning and evening peaks will start five minutes earlier to reduce transfer time from Skyline.
- Westbound trips will not change.
U Line (Ahua to UH Manoa via H-1 Freeway):
- Frequency for both eastbound and westbound departure times will increase to 40 minutes.
Route PH8 (Makalapa to Naval Shipyard):
- An additional trip will be added at 2:40 p.m.
Route 23 (Kahala to Sea Life Park):
- The 6:21 a.m. westbound trip will shift five minutes earlier and start at 6:16 a.m. to accommodate transfers to Route 2L at Kahala Mall.
Route 40 (Honolulu to Makaha):
- Daily service to Keoneae UH West Oahu Station will be extended to midnight.
- Additional night service to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport will be provided between 10:30 p.m. and 3:45 a.m.
Route 51 (Honolulu to Wahiawa):
- Additional night service to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport will be provided between 10:30 p.m. and 3:45 a.m.
Route 433 (Waipahu to Waikele Shopping Center):
- Weekdays – The 7 a.m. trip will be extended to serve Waipio.
- Saturdays – No changes.
- Sundays – There will be new service added to Waipio between 8:15 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Routing will follow weekday and Saturday service to Waipio and frequency will be updated to 60 minutes. The span of service between Waipahu Transit Center and Waikele will remain 5 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
