Dayton Fire Depart. seeks tips on downtown alleged arson case

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Dayton Fire Department is asking for anyone with information on a fire, which it said was set intentionally, to reach out.

According to the DFD’s Deputy Director and Chief, Brad French, crews went to the parking garage at 21 West First Street for a reported fire at approximately 11:50 am on Feb. 12.

“When crews arrived, they located no active fire, but found obvious evidence of fire damage that had occurred previously at an unknown exact date/time in the parking garage area,” wrote French.

Thankfully, officials said there were no reported injuries. Reportedly, there was fire damage in a bathroom area and door frame; there was also evidence of a second, smaller fire in a nearby stairwell…
