Evansville woman arrested for OWI after backing into patrol car with child in vehicle

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — An Evansville woman faces felony charges after police say she operated a vehicle while intoxicated with a toddler in the backseat and backed into a patrol car Thursday morning.

Officers with the Evansville Police Department were dispatched to the Sunoco station on South Barker Avenue around 7:45 a.m. following multiple 911 reports of an impaired driver on Michigan Street. When officers arrived and positioned their vehicle behind the suspect, the driver—identified as 28-year-old Saisha Harmon—allegedly backed her vehicle into the stationary patrol car.

According to the probable cause affidavit, an EPD officer observed Harmon in the driver’s seat with the keys in the ignition. A toddler was found in a car seat in the back of the vehicle…
