A 19-year-old with an over-year-old felony case for a count of battery on a public education employee, Arneeke Leon Williams, is now facing more charges for possessing cannabis and a gun. Following his arrest on Wednesday, prosecutors formally filed the charges just five days later.
On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, then an 18-year-old student at Eastside High School, Williams was in class while the 24-year-old teacher was informing students about an activity.
According to a student acting as a witness, Williams was standing up and told the teacher to not move. The witness said Williams walked up to the teacher and said she had a bug in her hair. Soon after, a 17-year-old approached and said the same thing. The witness described the teacher as smiling and laughing but recounted her saying, “Y’all better not touch me.” The witness said the students told her not to move again and tapped her head…
