A deadly crash on Interstate 580 in Hayward left a pedestrian dead yesterday after the person was struck by a big rig and an unknown white SUV just west of Center Street, authorities said. The big rig driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, while the white SUV continued on. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and the coroner’s office is working to identify the individual.
