GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A man previously convicted in the 2023 shooting death of Darryl Yarber was sentenced Thursday afternoon in a Kent County courtroom to a term of life in prison.
Dominike Sterling was found guilty of first-degree murder following a trial in December, in which he represented himself in court. Sterling and several other men were named as suspects in Yarber’s death following a yearlong investigation by the Grand Rapids Police Department.
