Beloved Community Center focuses on unity, civic engagement in Downtown Greensboro

In the heart of downtown Greensboro on Arlington Street, the Beloved Community Center is working to strengthen neighborhoods through civic engagement and community building.

The non-profit is housed inside Faith Community Church, it describes its mission as serving as a model to help guide Greensboro, the state and future generations toward economic sufficiency and social and racial justice. The grassroots organization was founded in 1991. It pushes community members to be proactive in continuing the legacy of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Its co-executive founders the late Rev. Nelson Johnson and Mrs. Joyce Johnson.
