Varallo’s closing after 119 years in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — One of Nashville’s oldest restaurant has closed its doors.

Varallo’s was a staple in downtown Nashville for more than a century. It opened for business in 1907 and credits itself as the oldest restaurant in Nashville. It was located on Fourth Avenue North and served breakfast along with meat-and-three offerings and of course, chili spaghetti.

The Varallo family sold the business to Bob Peabody in 2019. It was formerly owned and operated by Todd Varallo, who was the fourth family owner of the restaurant. He is the great-grandson of Frank Varallo Sr., who founded the restaurant in 1907.
