Pensacola mother pulls son from public schooling after alleged assault by fellow student

PENSACOLA, Fla. — A Pensacola mother says her child was assaulted on school grounds.

Amanda Bellamy says the fight happened Wednesday during school hours at Jim C. Bailey Middle School. She claims teachers stood by, doing nothing to stop the fight between her son and a boy two years older than him.

But the district says that’s protocol. However, that’s not enough for this mom, who’s now pulled her child out of the Escambia County Public School system. She will be re-enrolling him at a private institution…
