A day before his last day on the job, Rhode Island Department of Transportation Director Peter Alviti is the subject of an apology email sent by another agency, the NBC 10 I-Team has learned.
Multiple sources tell the I-Team that Alviti called a local emergency management head an “f—ing dope,” or some combination of those two words, for asking a question on a Wednesday conference call about the blizzard response.
The person the comment was apparently aimed at, North Kingstown and Charlestown Emergency Management head Scott Kettelle, told NBC 10 News, “It was very disappointing and unprofessional, the actions of Mr. Alviti.”
