Man kidnapped from Sikh temple found dead near California lake

The body of a 57-year-old man who was kidnapped from a Central Valley Sikh temple earlier this month was located approximately 100 miles north in Napa County, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.

Atvar Singh, a resident of Tracy where he worked as the temple’s head cook for 23 years, was reported missing on Feb. 17, the sheriff’s officials said in a news release.

The 57-year-old lived on the temple property with his wife and their 6-month-old triplets. When his wife returned home from work that afternoon and found their children alone, she asked other temple members if they had seen him, but no one was able to locate him…
