TOLEDO, Ohio — Metroparks Toledo took a major step Wednesday toward building a new riverfront Metropark in the Vistula neighborhood, approving a $2.7 million contract amendment to advance the project into its next phase.
The Metroparks board voted to increase its professional services agreement with engineering firm Tetra Tech, bringing the total contract amount for the Glass City Riverwalk–Vistula project to a not-to-exceed $4,450,975.
The amendment allows the firm to move from conceptual planning into final construction plans and pre-construction services for the new park along Water Street between Olive and Magnolia streets.
What Wednesday’s vote does
The newly approved funding will cover:
- Development of full construction plans and specifications
- Engineer’s cost estimates
- Geotechnical reports
- Right-of-way plans and property acquisitions
- Construction administration and due diligence services
