Flooding in Anderson County closes some roads

ANDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – Flooding in Anderson County has prompted a warning from first responders to use caution when driving in the area.

Several roads have flooded or are closed. At 9 a.m. Thursday, the Anderson County Emergency Management Agency provided this list:

  • Irwin Mill at Hinds Creek
  • Pumpkin Hollow at Brooks Gap – Flooded
  • Brooks Gap from the interstate bridge to Brushy Valley-Flooded
  • Airport Road in Oliver Springs – Flooded
  • 1240 Byrams Ford – Flooded and closed at this time
  • Offutt Spur Road at Offutt Road – Flooded

Among the agencies warning about flood was the Andersonville Volunteer Fire Department.

โ€œThe Andersonville Volunteer Fire Department is aware of flooding on several roadways in our coverage area this morning,โ€ a notice from the department said. โ€œPlease exercise extreme caution if you must travel, and never attempt to drive through standing water.
