TEXAS — Five people are in custody after a police chase that began in Ellis County early Tuesday morning and ended in a crash in West Fort Worth.
According to the Ellis County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy spotted a vehicle shooting from the roadway near FM 875 and FM 663 in Midlothian around 3:22 a.m. When the deputy attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled, prompting a pursuit.
Officials said the occupants of the vehicle continued to fire weapons at deputies during the chase. The pursuit extended into neighboring jurisdictions, including Grand Prairie and Arlington, where additional law enforcement agencies assisted…
