H-E-B’s fast-growing rival opens in bustling Austin-area town next week

Spring flowers aren’t the only things blooming in Central Texas this March.

Sprouts, the natural foods grocery chain based out of Arizona, has been bolstering up its Central Texas footprint with a slew of store openings now operational or coming down the pipeline in the region, including new storefronts already underway in Kyle and New Braunfels. Now, the business is putting the finishing touches on its latest location in a bustling Austin-area town that’s seen a spike in new development in recent years.

The city of Bastrop is slated to welcome its first Sprouts Farmers Market on March 6, according to the business’ website. Sprouts first registered the Bastrop project with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation last January, with an estimated construction cost of $6 million and an aptly predicted construction completion date in March of this year…
