RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Rankin County deputies announced a man was arrested for burglarizing a fish house.
The incident occurred at a restaurant on Dixie Road in the Florence area. Rankin County deputies responded to the business on February 24, 2026, after employees noticed that the cash was missing from the register when they were opening for the day.
Bond set for two charged in I-20 road rage shooting
Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey said deputies reviewed the surveillance video and saw a man in a black hoodie walking near the rear of the restaurant the previous night. He said the suspect went to the electrical box and turned off the breaker, which cut power to the restaurant.
Deputies later identified the suspect as Scott Dennis Roberts, 47, of Florence. He was arrested and booked into the Rankin County Jail for burglary.
