Every March in Louisiana, the St. Joseph Altar transforms Catholic churches into ornate tables of devotion and Sicilian tradition.
The altars are traditionally made to celebrate the Feast Day of St. Joseph, which takes place on March 19. They are traditionally constructed in the shape of a cross with three levels in honor of the Holy Trinity.
