CAHOKIA HEIGHTS, Ill. (KTVI) – On Monday morning, a terrified young man ran across the street from his apartment in Cahokia Heights, Illinois, to Thrifty Hardware & Home Center, begging for help.
What he revealed next left police stunned: He and his mother had been held captive, where they were beaten repeatedly, threatened with a gun, and trapped with no way to call for help for days.
