Reno VA hospital to begin major health care infrastructure upgrades

Veterans receiving care at the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System (VASNHCS) can expect improvements behind the scenes that will make a big difference in how care is delivered.

VASNHCS announced today that it is launching several infrastructure upgrades designed to ensure safe, reliable and effective patient care. The projects are funded through the Veterans Health Administration’s Non-Recurring Maintenance program, part of a record $4.8 billion nationwide investment in fiscal year 2026 to modernize and improve VA health care facilities across the country.

What’s happening locally?

During the first quarter of fiscal year 2026, VASNHCS will focus on three key projects:
