Many Cuyahoga County employers are complying with a new law to prevent hair-based discrimination in the workplace, but some Black women are still hearing discriminatory comments about their hair, according to one of the law’s chief advocates.
The law, called the CROWN Act, passed in October. It requires employers to train staff on hair-based discrimination and revise hair or appearance guidelines to be nondiscriminatory.
