Bluey, French Bulldog puppy stolen in Burlington apartment break-in, returned safe to owner

BURLINGTON, N.C. — A French Bulldog puppy stolen during a Burlington apartment break-in last month has been recovered and returned to her owner, police announced on Thursday.

Bluey, a female French Bulldog puppy, was two months old when she was taken on Jan. 2, 2026, when an apartment at the Pointe Apartments, 2008 S. Mebane St., was burglarized.

Officers arrested Bryan Keishawn Torain, 25, and charged him with two counts of secret peeping, one count of breaking and entering, one count of felony larceny and one count of larceny of a dog. Torain is being held under no bond…
