Inmate Bolts From Torrance Hospital, Cops Lock Down Neighborhood

A routine hospital visit in Torrance turned into a full-scale manhunt Thursday after an inmate slipped from custody while being treated at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center, according to police. Officers quickly moved to lock down the surrounding area, bringing in air support and ground units as they swept nearby neighborhoods for the escaped patient.

Police set up a secure perimeter near Torrance Boulevard and Anza Avenue and advised residents to lock their doors and windows while the search unfolded.
