Montgomery man sentenced to 40 years in convenience store shooting

A Montgomery man has been sentenced to 40 years in federal prison for his role in a fatal shooting at a Montgomery convenience store.

Rodriques Javaun Humphrey, 20, was sentenced to 480 months in prison on Feb. 24, said Kevin Davidson, acting United States attorney. On Aug. 13, Humphrey pleaded guilty to illegally possessing a machine gun, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, Davidson said.

There is no parole in the federal system…
