Check your tickets: $100,000 Powerball ticket in Columbia among prizes expiring next week

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Three Powerball tickets worth a combined $200,000 are set to expire next week if they are not claimed, according to the South Carolina Education Lottery.

Lottery officials said one $100,000-winning ticket and two $50,000-winning tickets were purchased in South Carolina in September, when the Powerball jackpot climbed to more than $1 billion.

The unclaimed winning tickets were sold at the following locations:

  • Cheapway #16, 1854 Shop Rd., Columbia — $100,000 win on Sept. 6
  • Hot Spot, 308 E. Poinsett St., Greer — $50,000 win on Sept. 6
  • A Plus, 1519 Red Bank Rd., Goose Creek — $50,000 win on Sept. 3

All three tickets matched four of five white ball numbers and the red Powerball number. Lottery officials said the ticket sold in the Midlands included the PowerPlay option, which doubled the prize to $100,000…
